BIKE SKILLS PARK

AT DEN DUYF PARK

Bike pump tracking being built

The Vision

In 2018, PORCA dreamed big. We wanted a community recreational amenity that would support Pemberton's mountain bike culture and provide opportunities for all levels of riders. We wanted to maintain and enhance Pemberton's world class riding experience for residents and visitors alike.

PORCA applied to the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation and was awarded $25,000 that kicked off the fundraising to bring our dream to reality. For two years PORCA searched for a suitable location without success. We went back to the drawing board and approached Mayor and Council, who passed a motion for Village Of Pemberton staff to work with PORCA to find a solution. The new Den Duyf recreation site area was selected and in March 2021, the Village of Pemberton was awarded $974,258 to support the development of a bike skills park from the Government of British Columbia.

The Park

The Park, built by Velo Solutions and Coast Gravity Park, includes four zones: a pump track, skills park, drop zone, and four jump lines with varying difficulty levels, allowing riders to progress as their skills improve.

In 2024 upgrades were undertaken including a shade shelter, re-surface of the drop zone to wood take-off areas, and smoothing out the surface between the jump lines to improve the overall rider experience.
