PORCA EVENTS UPDATE
The health and safety of our event and program participants, coaches and volunteers are paramount to the Pemberton Off Road Cycling Association. We have been watching the evolving Covid-19 pandemic and feel it is appropriate to cancel our upcoming events and programs up until end of June 2020. Including both the Enduros, spring Toonies, After School Programs, Bike Club, Trail Days and Social Events.
PORCA did not come to this decision easily. Although our events and programs are mainly outdoors, we must all do our part to promote social distancing as directed by Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).
PORCA has offered all Pemberton Enduro, Spud Crusher Women’s Enduro and Youth After School Programs participants a refund. Please contact us if you have not submitted your choice of refund option. PORCA is a not for profit community association and our main source of funding is event/program and membership fees.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through our credit and refund process.
These Kids are Social Distancing, Are You ?
At this time PORCA ask you to:
Respect & Protect: your fellow trail users & our community. We are a social distancing practicing community. Please maintain a minimum two metre between yourself and all other trail users. This includes when passing, stopping to chat, or hanging in the parking lot.
Please note: shuttling does not fit within recommended social distancing guidelines. Shuttling also increases the wear and tear on our trails - this is not the Bike Park - our trail crew consists of mostly VOLUNTEERS.
Consider: the risk. Choose your trails and lines carefully and ride well within your level of ability. Our healthcare workers go to work for you, you stay at home for them, let’s not add to this right now.
Support: our local trail associations. The Pemberton Off Road Cycling Association (PORCA) is a not-for-profit organization committed to preserving mountain biking in the area. A $35 membership goes a long way to help us build, maintain and advocate for the trails you’re about to enjoy. Your PORCA membership automatically includes a Pemberton Valley Trails Association (PVTA) membership.
For all things PORCA, keep your eyes on your inbox or follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or PORCA website.
