Sustainable Trail-Building Workshop

On Thursday, April 3rd, 2025, head over to the Pemberton and District Public Library for a Sustainable Trail-Building Workshop.

The workshop will focus on best practices for creating and maintaining trails responsibly. We’ll dive into the principles of sustainable trail building and how to ensure long-lasting, environmentally friendly trails.

Guest speakers from the Pemberton Valley Recreational Trails Working Group, including representatives from Líl̓wat Nation Lands & Resources, PORCA, Pemberton Valley Trails Association PVTA Pemberton Wildlife Association, Spel'kúmtn Community Forest, and the Indigenous Youth Mountain Bike Program, will be joining this collaborative presentation.

After the workshop, stick around for a screening of the movie Dirt Relations.
Dirt Relations is an inspiring and thought-provoking documentary that explores the powerful connection between mountain biking, reconciliation, and healing intergenerational trauma. Through captivating storytelling and breathtaking visuals, the film follows three individuals—Patrick, Thomas, and Tom—as they collaborate with Indigenous communities across British Columbia to build trails and empower Indigenous youth.

This workshop is made possible thanks to the generosity of the Whistler Community Foundation.
