March and spring is here and that means trails maintenance time for the Pemby trails! This year PVTA and PORCA are hoping to hold community COVID friendly trail days (stay tuned), however, until then we wanted a way to recognize the awesome volunteer trail work that occurs every year by trying something a little new.
Maintenance March Madness!
(Which may include April!)
The Beer farmers have generously provided a donation in beer to quench the thirst of the hard-working Pemberton volunteer trail workers. To award trail work, we will use the Trailforks app’s Trail Work Reports to record volunteer hours put into the Pemberton trails — scroll down for instructions on how to use.
Continue as normal with posts to the Bike Pemberton Facebook Group — raking buff trails, clearing downed trees, cutting back overgrowth, and engineering genius drainage methods. When you’re done, record your efforts in a Trailforks Volunteer Work Report to see your hard work paid in beer! Top trail work contributors, as calculated by the Trailforks Trail Works Report, for the month of March (and maybe April depending on snow) will receive beer payment as a serious thank you. Obviously, this is an honors system so post photos of work completed with report.
Not only do the Trailforks Work Reports get you recognition for your work, it’s also a great tool for trail groups to see which trails are receiving work and which ones need a little love. This helps plan future trail days and provides a way for us to prove our volunteer capacity for future trail grants. Please continue to create the reports after the spring so we will be able to recognize all the trail work completed for the season. Message PORCA board member Simon Fry with any questions.
*** You do not need the Trailforks Pro membership to participate, trail work reports can be created with the free version, the basic Trailforks also allows one free area which could be the Pemberton trail area.
